Received email from HD indicating a 10% single in store discount from 7/2-7/8 for all military. If you qualify, have at it. If not, advise someone that does, for up to a $200 max discount. Does not seem to be restricted to active duty only, so I assume that reserves and retired are eligible also.

Free Garden Mulch

Our city grinds up all wood, brush and other natural items. They have huge piles of this stuff (2 stories high sometimes) that is free for the taking. It's very clean and easy to handle. All you have to do is drive over and shovel as much as you want into whatever you have. It makes it easier with a truck, but there are many folks that use their car and an interesting collection of containers to load up.
