According to the "Spend Analyzer" at the Discover Card site, I spent $8694 during that last 12 months @ a supermarket. We charge 100% of our purchases on DC. Of course not all purchases were for food. That comes out to $742/month for 3 of us. That's about $250 per person.
My son will be moving out soon so I expect my monthly cost to reduce by about $250. Looks about right to me, as beer and wine are also included in that figure.
How much do you spend at the supermarket each month/year?

Re: How Much Do You Spend on Food?
Awesome idea using one card to track all grocery purchases. We recently needed to fill out a detailed budget for some finance paperwork and I was hard pressed to put an exact figure on groceries. Sometimes I use cash to avoid using the debit card and as a result didn't use to keep reciepts.
I now check all receipts and have discovered I have been able to save more money by diligently reviewing receipts and bills. check out www.checkyourreceipts.com
