From the Consumerist, there should be something for everyone in that big list! A few were beyond anything I'd do but hey, if the cap fits! :) One sneaky hubby makes this claim.
My wife is all about brand-names. She wants Tide - nothing else. Tide is $12 a bottle and Purex is like $7. When we are almost out of 'Tide', I go buy Purex and pour it in the Tide bottle. We have had the same bottle of 'Tide' for about 7 months. They change packaging now and then so occasionally I still need to buy the real stuff.
I don't believe him LOL. They smell too different.
Great list! Thanks, Kay. The pen one puzzles me. Don't most pens have metal tips/nibs? You couldn't put that in the microwave. I only use the cheap ten for a dollar kind. I'd rather replace the pen than the microwave! LOL

True! :) I knew it was missing something vital.
Also, if you're a fan of the hot sauce with the whole peppers in vinegar, you can simply replace the vinegar 5 or 6 times with regular white vinegar, and stash in it the fridge for a few days. The result in exactly the same thing, less $3 for a new bottle.
I was given this as a gift by a neighbor that found it too spicy. Those vinegars are HOT! We love it and I'll be topping mine up now I've read that. I think it's about halfway done. They are so, so good. :)
Thanks for the list, Kay! #1 on mine would be: Don't spend it on things you can do yourself. Simple. Things like this tip. Who buys pre-cut fruit? I look at those small plastic containers in the produce sections and think "why?". How long does it take to slice up a pineapple, really? They must have money to burn.
DON'T BUY PRE-CUT FRUIT
Don't buy pre-cut fruit, buy the whole fruit. You save a couple dollars every time.

That's a good find, Kay, thanks. I need to say ewww on the reusable sanitary items. No, no, no. No way will I ever go that far.
