I wish I could rip the thing out and start again but there's no budget for big jobs like that. My biggest problem is storage space. I have one narrow closet in the bedroom. It's a built in recess, one shelf at the top and a rail and only 3 feet wide. There's no door on it and I hate looking at the clothes. The bedroom can be spotless and that being open to the world makes it look untidy. I can't afford a freestanding wardrobe and want to hide them behind something. Unfortunately every idea I have is tacky and I don't think would look much better. Help!!

Would you want to put up a screen in front of the closet? I'm thinking of the oldfashioned ones that are in three sections with legs. Although I don't know where you'd get one second hand to keep the cost low, they're very attractive.

This could be a silly question. Why not put an interior door on the closet? You wouldn't need a top of the range quality one.

Interior doors can be pricey. I like the screen idea but they can be too. Would a rail above the frame with a curtain do or does that come into your "tacky" category?

Um, yes it does LOL. Of course there could be a very nice way to do it that I'm not imagining. In my head I'm seeing a spring loaded plastic shower rail and curtain complete with the rings.

Thank you for the screens and doors ideas but I don't know if I could afford them. I was hoping for a solution well under triple figures.

I like beaded door curtains. Not the plastic jewel kind. Those are fine for a teen's room. Grown ups need a more stylish choice. The bamboo natural curtains don't look tacky and you can get decorated ones. This Earth one is sixty bucks but is handpainted. There's also a Water and Fire version.

What's your decor like? Would that fit in?

I need to add this one which is not my style. At $19.22 reduced from $30 , it could be a bargain for one of you I didn't want to miss telling you about! The beads are mirrored.

Wow, those are nice cookiefan! And not a lava lamp in sight LOL. The Fire one didn't do much for me but I liked the Earth and Water ones. The strands look close enough together too that they would hide the clothes. Don't forget to check the width and drop would fit, bringmeroses. I don't know if you could adjust the length. The width could overlap the closet frame as long as you have the space.

Those are very nice! I had to go snooping around to see what I was missing. :)

This Karma Living Fringe Panel's pretty, bringmeroses. There's other colors, not just this red. I saw chocolate brown, safari green and turquoise. Take a look at the middle and right hand pictures thumbnails under the main picture. I think they're better. The description says the fabric is iridescent. It's reduced as well and a better deal than cookiefan's. :P The panel's reduced 58% from $60 to $24.95.

Ladies, I think the beaded curtains are fantastic! What an excellent crowd of bargain hunters you are. :) The bamboo ones are gorgeous and in my price range. The Earth design was my favorite. Unfortunately it's now out of stock so I'll go for the Water one. My room's so neutral it verges on bland.
