I had budgeted for $400 including food and spent $382. I don't think I've came in under budget before! How did you get on?

I was slightly underbudget which is unheard of. The only reason is I got the flu and couldn't get as many outings squeezed in this year to the mall. Next year I'll be hanging around people that are coughing sooner LOL.

We didn't spend as much as we intended. I share my computer with my son and we wanted to surprise him with one of his own. With shorter hours at work looming over us for hubby though, it wasn't making sense to spend that kind of money when we didn't know what would be coming in after New Year. I'm glad we didn't now because his hours got cut as of this week. My son was happy enough anyway with new games and clothes.
We didn't tell him we'd been thinking about it just in case anything happened and I'm so glad now we didn't because it would have been rotten to disappoint him. He's a good lad and understands we have to be even more cautious than ever now. We really wanted to do it for him too. He's worked hard this year online and has been taking care of the yard etc without grumbling. He's done a lot of growing up and maturing. I'm proud of him. :) Maybe once hubby gets back to full time we'll try and do it anyway if we can.
Anyway, hubby's still in a job, so can't complain! :) There's always someone worse off than you are eh. :)

I was counting my pennies this morning too and we were over by $40. I'm disappointed because I thought we were closer to what we'd estimated. Anyway, it's spent and I can't get it back. I'm moving along, nothing to see here! :)

You did well, pennywise. I didn't have an exact figure in mind. I was thinking we'd part with around half of what you spent. I don't know how much damage I did yet exactly. It will be perhaps $30 over.
