Wal-Mart, Amazon and Target are all involved in this three ring circus. The way this has been working out we're all going to have a cheaper Christmas. Yes!
[Wal-Mart] said late Thursday that it would lower the online prices of new DVDs such as "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" and "Star Trek XI" to $10.
But when Amazon reduced some of its DVD prices to $9.99, Wal-Mart shot back by cutting its DVDs to $9.98 as of Friday morning. Target got into the act Friday morning, too. All three companies also sweetened the pot by offering free shipping for the DVDs being sold.
We'll be getting the Harry Potter DVD when that's released. I'm glad to see that getting a special mention! I'm with you on the video games, greenmachine. My son wants one that's $60 for his Christmas and the gift's so small it will look pathetic under the tree.
That's one of the unspoken rules of Christmas frazzledmom. The boxes get smaller but their cost is bigger the older the kids get. It's true! Think Nintendo, iPods, video games/cartridges etc. We should leave the price tags on them! I can remember feeling my young brother got a lot more than me when we were kids but he didn't! He was just much younger and still at the stage where he got big box toys like garages when I'd get a personal CD player that cost triple what his garage did.

That's so true! You made me think of the Nintendo DS and their tiny cartridges. A non gamer or game buyer wouldn't guess how much money's wrapped up in those tiny packages.
Games are such a rip-off in price. You know what they say though. The price that's charged is related what the market will bear. Only when the buyers stop buying will they come down or if a special deal like the above ones happen. You can't blame businesses for wanting as much profit as possible.

I have no store loyalty at all like 99% of folks. If you're the cheapest, you're my favorite. I hope the next move in these price wars is video games! Those are astronomical.
Thanks for sharing the news.
