CARLSBAD, Calif., July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- On July 18th, National Ice Cream Day, all Carrows restaurants, located throughout the states of California and Nevada, will scoop out free Peanuts(TM) ice cream cones, one of the special new Peanuts(TM)desserts being served up at the family restaurant chains from now until November 2009.

 
You need to sign up at their website for your coupon by July 15. Press release. 
 
Coco's Bakeries and Restuarants must be part of the same chain because the same deal is offered there too.

I hope another chain near me does this too. Free ice-cream to go with our hundred degree days sounds blissful.

Thanks for the link, purplerain. :) I have another ice cream freebie. You need to be a Facebook user to get it and have a friend that will send you the coupon.

Starbucks is giving out free ice cream – on Facebook.
 
Members of the social networking site can surprise fellow users with a coupon for a pint of free ice cream every day through July 19. Up to 20,000 free coupons are available each day, and will be given out in batches of roughly 800 each hour.
 
Facebook users will receive a message asking them to try again later if all the pints for a particular hour have already been allocated, according to Starbucks spokeswoman Melanie Muccio.
 
Coupons for the new flavors – caramel macchiato, mocha frappuccino, java chip frappuccino and coffee – can be redeemed at grocery stores.  Starbucks retail locations do not stock the ice cream, Muccio said.
