Goodwill is getting high tech!

If you feel like you've seen a lack of "cool" items in your local Goodwill recently, this might help explain it. The site lists everything from electronics to clothing, and lighting to collectibles—most of which is less vintage than you think. Sure you won't have the thrill of wading through aisles of polyester pants, or experiencing that dusty basement smell, but online bidding does save you time and money when it comes to finding what you want.

I had to laugh at the dusty basement smell comment. I always wondered what that odor was. Now I know. That's handy to have that link. Thanks Zoey! :)

Isn't part of the fun digging through the piles of trash to find a treasure? Maybe some people hate that, but I love the hunt...
I'll stick with the stores! Besides, arn't most items one of a kind?

You would think so, Cassie! And I love the raking through it all as well. That's how you find something unique. I don't know if I'd buy online via them.

I wouldn't. I like to dive into the rails and see what's been hidden away at the back. :)

Re: The Goodwill store goes online

That's funny because I am always seeing stuff at my good will that they could easily sell online if they took the time. They don't, so I pick it up on the half-price day and sell it myself! As long as I get an extra buck or two, I am happy. It's more of a hobby than anything, but a few extra bucks never hurt. My store had so many sweaters a few weeks ago that they did a ten for ten deal. I spent $40 and put them up for sale. The shipping kills you though. Cross country is almost $10 and you can't fit a sweater in a flat rate envelope...

Thanks! Yes I use eBay. It's nice because you save a little more on shipping through the PayPal/Click n ship connection. Still, I sold a pair of pants the other day. They weighed over 1lb and it costs $8 to ship them. That just seems like a lot of scratch to me. They were too bulky for the flat rate box. I would have had to cram them in there and get them all wrinkled.
