Here in Ohio,we have a grocery store chain called Krogers,I know they are in a few other states also,,not sure which ones, but they offer a grocery card,,small,,keep it on your key ring. When you checkout from shopping you swipe your card for additional savings.I dont understand why anyone would shop at these stores and not have one.Our bill came to 167.00,I had 15.00 in coupons to come off that total,,then I cashed in alot of change at a coin star which came to 10.45,the rest was deducted when we swiped the Kroger card. After all that the bill total was 97.00.I was thrilled with the savings.I think out of all that I have 12 meals planned from it,plus the freezer looks so much better with all that food instead of just the ice trays!LOL

Anyone also have the grocery discount cards?Love walking away from a store with a 70.00 savings!

We don't have that locally but I wish we did. I think loyalty cards are excellent and it would make me choose one store above another. I'm very impressed Donna, that's some size of saving! Would you say that's average or above average?

Way to go, Donna! And I'm so happy to see a coupon queen in our midst. You'll be able to teach me about using them better, I'm sure. :)

I am too. I get real mixed up with those darn things and what you can use when.

Id say its a above average for us.But for me when it comes to using coupons,,sometimes off brands or store name brands are a better buy.I buy store brand name sugars salts seasonings some canned veggies are  better price than name brand with coupons! :)

I never understand why people buy brand name canned vegetables. I mean, does the farmer say to the plant "You're going to be in a Del Monte can so look your best!" LOL. I don't think there's any big difference especially when they're in stews or soups or casseroles.

I agree! Sometmes even with a coupon the store brand is cheaper,,just depends on taste for us,if it taste good then we buy it if not then we will try a name brand.
