It's sad to read that these are on the increase by scammers wanting to take advantage of the families now losing jobs or having their income cut. This is a good article on what to watch out for.
One of the more popular scams claims to pay boatloads of money to workers who type at home.
A typical claim declares home-based workers can make $250 per day (sometimes more) working just 30 minutes typing at home. Companies that promote this snow job usually ask gullible workers to purchase useless software for orders that never materialize.
Other unscrupulous companies seek workers to help convince search engines that the company's site is highly rated by customers. Hired workers fool the search engines by placing a series of ads and remarks on hundreds of blogs, chat boards and other interactive opportunities.
Nice post pennywise, thanks.

It's hard to believe that an educated society would have folks that would be taken in by such a scam of $500/hour, but it seems to be true unfortunately.

"There's none so blind as those who will not see." My dad said that often. Where he got the quote from I don't know . It's greed/laziness and nothing's changed since the caveman said to the returning hunter "Are you going to eat all of that mammoth yourself?". Promise them "work" that means someone else is doing the hard slog elsewhere while they're cruising along and reaping the rewards with minimal effort and they'll jump at the chance, no questions asked.
I can't think of any legitimate reason that you should have to pay money before you earn it. No company outside of scammers would say "Pay me $ for your training and I might get you work." People don't report them as much as they should either because of pride or because they don't know they can.
It is very simple. Just you can avoid what is harmful to you or what makes you tense. Thanks.

Common sense has to come into it. When you can't make $250 a day for 30 minutes work typing in a normal office, why would you get paid that online? Greed blinds people to so much and that side of the equation gets forgotten.
