Simple ideas can be right under your nose but you don't see them. In this News10 article about a family that was cutting the child care costs as part of a frugal family challenge, this suggestion was made.

When bartering time is not an option, Marcelo suggested that the Pettys have a sitter watch more kids than just their own - and share cost with other parents. .

I think that's a good idea! :) If you were going out with friends and you both had kids needing watched, you could congregate them all under one roof and have one sitter.

When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a rose with the other.

That is a good idea. I don't think it's that much harder to watch three than two. You could take turns on whose house the sitter was at and let the kids stay over if they were sleeping when you got back.
