During this sixteenth annual event, corporate and private volunteers will participate in various projects on public lands across the country, educational events will be held, and entrance fees will be waived at all 391 Natioinal Parks. National Forest campgrounds will provide free camping for volunteers and, in some cases, such as in Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri, free camping is also extended to the general public.
For more information or to participate as a volunteer, follow these links to the official press release and the National Public Lands Day website.

Got that information here.

I'd like to attempt a visit this weekend. That's too good a chance to pass up if the weather's nice. It's getting all the family in one place at one time that's hard! Thank you bringmeroses. :)

That would be nice. I hate when we start heading towards winter and don't go over the door much. A camping trip or picnic could be just the thing to keep those winter blues away.
