Each year, Insure.com releases it's list of the top ten most expensive, and the top ten least expensive cars to insure. Insurers use a variety of data to decide on rates for cars, including the overall value, attractiveness to thieves and vandals, popularity with fast drivers, and overall safety.

So, being on the list of most expensive cars to insure doesn't necessarily mean the car is unsafe, but it does mean it will cost you quite a bit.

These two tips together can provide a 14% boost in your miles per gallon, effectively reducing what you pay for gas.

Low tire pressure can reduce your gas mileage by up to four percent, as well as uneven tire wear that will cost you later. Tires lose pressure over time, up to 1 psi per month, even when they are in perfect shape. Also, changes in temperature can cause a drop of 1 psi for every 10 degrees.

Use a website that allows you to comparison shop for the lowest gas price in your area. It's not unusual to find that the lowest priced gas station is charging 30-40 cents than the highest. For a full tank in a typical car, that could be a difference of $6.

These sites allow you to enter your zip code, or city and state, and a maximum distance that you are willing to drive for a better deal. Then, they return a list of the lowest prices for the grade of fuel you want to purchase, with maps and directions to each gas station.
