Don't Call 411 for directory information ... get 411 for free.

Calling 411 from either your home phone or cell phone will hit you with additional charges from your carrier.

A great way to save money is to choose a plan with fewer minutes.

For example, say you use around 500 minutes per month and you are on Verizon’s 900 minute plan and pay around $60 excluding taxes, surcharges and other fees.

It would be cheaper to choose the 450 minute package and talk a little less. You'll save $20 per month or $240 a year.

Prepaid cell phone plans are full of hidden costs, and it's often difficult to decipher which plan is best. You can't just compare how many cents per minute, or airtime as many of them add on charges. For example, some plans charge you $1 for each day you use the phone, regardless of minutes.
